Results of Public Vote
These results are based on alternative views at street level from Albert Square and represent only a snapshot of the alternative proposals, however they provide a framework in which some possible design principles become clearer. Looking at these unscientific results it seems that the most popular proposals (B, G, L, Q, R) all contain elements of the existing police station facade. This suggests there is some desire, in this sample, to retain the facade either completely or retain elements of its scale, form or material. That having been said the next group of proposals in terms of votes (A, H, J, O, P), although introducing new buildings, maintain the scale of the existing facade. The exception to this being alternative I which radically changes the form of the street.
